Fortune Town Bangkok

IT Stores

The main reason people go to Fortune Town is for computer equipment from the IT mall. There are a number of specialist IT stores as well as an IT City which is like an IT supermarket selling most IT peripherals used by small businesses and home users.

There are plenty of shops selling laptops, desktop PCs, monitors, external hard drives and so on.

Also on the IT theme, are the large number of pirated software stores selling pirated DVDs and CDs full of hacked and cracked software from the likes of Microsoft, Adobe, Macromedia and many others.

Camera Shops

There are a few decent camera stores selling popular point and shoot cameras as well as more expensvie enthusiast cameras from the likes of Nikon and Canon. They also sell camera accessories such as tripods, camera bags, lenses and other accessories.

Fortune Town is decent in terms of camera shops, but it is not as good as MBK and so if you are after more professional equipment and top of the range cameras, then go to MBK first.

Mobile Phone Stalls

As with almost everywhere else in Bangkok and Thailand, there is a multitude of mobile phone stalls. There are privately owned stalls as well a branches of popular stores such as Jay Mart.
Buy and sell mobile phones, smart phones and PDAs. All the latest phones can be found but once again, MBK has far more stalls and much wider choice. The only down side to MBK is that the mobile phone section is packed with people and the stall owners are often rude.

Hi-Fi Retailers

For people looking for decent second hand hi-fi separates such as amplifiers, CD players, speakers and even turn tables.

There are no shops selling new Hi-Fi units but the second hand goods they sell seems to be in good condition and they present everything well and keep it looking good so it's well worth a look.

Where Is It And How To Get There.

The mall can be found most easily by taking the subway and by getting off at Rama 9 station. When you get out of the subway station, follow the signs to Fortune Tower and when you get outside, it'll be right there.

Why Shop There?

Most people choose to shop at Fortune Town because it is quieter and more relaxed than Pantip Plaza. It's also quite convenient to get to when compared to Pantip Plaza due to the subway system. Pantip has no skytrain or subway very close and so most people get there by taxi and that can take a lot of time because the traffic can get very bad in that area. This makes Fortune a better option for many.

Also, Pantip Plaza has a reputation for pick-pockets and agressive hawkers trying to sell you sexy DVDs at every turn you make. This is not likely to happen at Fortune Town.

Places To Eat & Drink

There are a number of places to eat and drink. Most are on the first (Ground ) floor but there is also a basement area where you can grab Thai food and some coffee. The first floor has pizza and burger places as well as some Japanese restaurants.
