Bangkok Night Market is next to Lumpini park and is also known as Suan Lum Night Bazaar or just Bangkok Night Bazaar. It is basically a much smaller version of Chatuchak Weekend Market but which is open every day of the week from about 6pm until 11pm.
The Night Bazaar is probably nicer to go to than Chatuchak because it's a little cooler in the evenings and there are fewer people milling around..
The items on sale are not as varied as those at Chatuchak with the main focus being on clothing, Thai crafts and souvenirs as well as stalls selling suitcases, ladies bags, Thai silk products and jewelry.
There are a number of places to have a nice evening meal or just sit down and rest over a cool beer or a cocktail.

Lumpini Subway Station at the Night Market
Bangkok's Night Market attracts tourists and locals alike but make sure you bargain over the prices as it's quite possible to get some good deals here. It might be a little easier than at Chatuchak because many more people go to Chatuchak and so making a sale is not as hard for the vendors. Having said that, the night market is still popular
How To Get To The Night Market?
Depending on where you are, we suggest you take the subway (MRT) to Lumpini station as it is nice and easy with an entrance / exit directly outside the entrance to the Night Market.
If the Skytrain is easier for you, you could take the skytrain (BTS) to Saladaeng (which is actually on Silom road) and take a short taxi ride to the market, but you need to get a taxi from the same side of the road as O'Reilly's pub which is almost under the BTS station.
Alternatively, if you want it nice and simple, just jump in a taxi and tell them "Suan Lum Lumpini"
When's A Good Time To Get There ?
If you just want to go for the night market, then 8 pm is probably the best time. Most stalls will be open and you'll have plenty to choose from. If you go too early, the stalls will not all be open and you'll be limited for choice.
Alternatively, you could have your evening meal there first and go around the market afterwards. There are plenty of good restaurants to choose from
including the restaurant attached to the Joe Louis Puppet Theatre. The restaurants are clustered together and they are not difficult to find.

What Else Is In The Area?
There are two main attractions in the area. Both are very close and take just a short taxi rideto get to.
Thai Boxing at Lumpini boxing arena - 1,500 Baht for tourists.
Patpong market and the stalls up Silom road.
Most of the glasses and mugs are brand named items that have just been rejected at quality control and with the smallest of defects. All our mugs come from Chatuchak and unless you look very carefully, you wouldn't notice anything wrong.
You can pretty much kit out your entire house at Chatuchak, but even though bargains can be had, it's not as cheap as it used to be, with some items matching the prices found in major department stores but without a warranty.
