Zen Bangkok - Department Stores

Zen Department Store At Central World

Zen Bangkok is part of the Central Group and is a department store which is part of Central World. It's very much like the other Central stores and even has a Loft food court at the top similar to that found at Central Chidlom.

There is little to find here that you couldn't find at other Bangkok Central stores but it's still a nice place to shop if you are visiting Central World as there are things here you can't find at the shops in the Central World mall.

You can use the Central Discount card at this store.

Zen department store is close to Siam Paragon, Pantip Plaza, Platinum Fashion Mall, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, Siam Square and other retailers.

Opens: 10:00 - 22:00 daily

The FoodLoft @ ZEN

Zen is a very new, clean and well stocked department store with plenty of escalators and even glass lifts. The store itself is rarely busy and makes for a good choide for those who like to avoid crowds.
Not only can you enter the store from the Skywalk, but you can enter from any level of Central World.

Central Card provides for discounts of 5% as well as 7% VAT refunds
The Central Card can be used here and at other Central Stores such as Central Chidlom with this card you can then receive 5% discount on all items sold within the department stores owned and run by the Central group. However, if an item is already part of a sale, the discount card will not provide you with a further 5%.

Bangkok shops are always offering discounts and sales. There is no season for these sales and so the Central Discount Card, although beneficial, it isn't always necessary as you probably save more by buying in the sales.

Places To Eat

There's only The Loft which is on the top floor. The Loft is a food court with various types of food on offer including; Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian and Italian.
The concept is that upon entering the food court, you are handed a card per person. You then hand over the card to the stall serving your food and the amount is added to the card.
To pay, just present the card to the cashier on leaving and you pay the amount on the card. Just don't lose it or it could be expensive as there is a minimum fee well over what you'd probably spend.

If you want more variety, head off into Central World which has hundreds of places to eat with a large number of Japanese restaurants on the top floor and various others scattered around. There is really something for all tastes.

Pros & Cons

There are very few pros and cons to speak of. The Pros are probably the fact it's nice and clean and quiet with plenty of space and teh cons might be that there is little to differ it from other department stores in Bangkok. It might also be a little pricey for some, but no more so than most other places.
